A PEOPLE'S march demanding the right to information will be taken out from Pune in Maharashtra to Delhi, according to Gandhian activist Anna Hazare. This is for the first time that such a march is being held.
Speaking in Ahmedabad, Anna Hazare said an anti-corruption movement should be connected with basic rural development activities. Both these activities should go hand in hand if corruption has to be routed out completely, he said.
Anna added that people have a constitutional right to demand any information related to the activities of the government.
He said politicians who want to provide clean administration should encourage the demand of right to information as it will only infuse confidence in people towards the government. Otherwise, no fight against corruption can succeed, Anna said.
