It is a ridiculous to suggest that Hinduism is insensitive to the rivers. It is the only religion which is nature-centric. The spiritual practices, rituals, and our social life styles are river-centric. If we take out rivers from world view of Hinduism, it would collapse. It is the only religion, which for the first time, established nature as God.

It is ignorance towards traditions and practices that makes the situation bad. The present day education system disconnects us from traditional knowledge systems. Modern sciences vindicate Hinduism.

And modern science view is to use nature for the benefit of mankind. It never advocates ruthless exploitation of nature. Modern science never tells us to pollute rivers and destroy ecosystems. Instead of learning from modern science and traditional knowledge and practices, all this havoc is being created.
