On January 30, attendees at a Koch Brothers’ meet at the California resort, Rancho Mirage, were welcomed with an airship carrying a banner “Koch Brothers: Dirty Money”.
The aerial message to 200-odd luminaries from business and politics highlighted the Koch Brothers’ use of vast oil profits to push a polluter agenda through campaign contributions, lobbying and funding think tanks.
Greenpeace claimed this meeting, like the rest of the Koch gatherings in the past eight years, focused on how to raise money for right wing candidates and for causes such as climate change denial. “David and Charles Koch used their dirty money to block progress on clean energy and climate change policies.
Now they’re scheming to roll back the Clean Air Act and other critical health and environmental protections with their partners in Congress,” read a message on the international nonprofit’s website.
