>> Chinese security researchers have discovered a botnet running on the smartphones of more than a million users in the country. The devices had been infected by a Trojan-based attack first discovered in 2011, Xinhua reported. The botnet can allow the phones to be hijacked remotely.
>> Striking farm workers in De Doorns in South Africa attacked three journalists from the public broadcaster, South African Broadcasting Corporation, who were covering their strike. This incident adds to the number of journalists attacked in De Doorns since the strike, which started in August 2012.
