Power surplus: Bhutan and India signed four memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on hydropower during Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk’s December visit to India. The MoU is to help Bhutan build a number of power projects to generate 11,000 MW power by 2020. Bhutan’s domestic electricity consumption is only 400 MW and it has an installed capacity of 1,500 MW.
