Pride of India

The 'Pride of India Expo' at the Indian Science Congress 2016 hosted nearly 180 top notch scientific organisations of the country to display new innovations, working models of existing innovations and information on new research conducted by them. Here are glimpses from the exhibition:
Built by Ganesh Prateek, a college student from Bengaluru, the scorpion robot walks and stings like a scorpion. A UV sensor acts like the scorpion’s eyes, projecting 2D images of any object that crosses its path. The scorpion’s brain, located at its base, is built using Robo C software. There is a touch sensor at the sting of the scorpion. "This is a prototype that can be used to go through small holes and pipes, tracks and drainage systems. It can even be used in defence systems to detect landmines," Prateek said.
