  • The ingress of toxic elements

The ingress of toxic elements into the human body through the medium of food (e.g. nickel in vanaspati) beverages (heavy metals, arsenic, fluoride), cosmetics (heavy metal and dioxins/benzodifuranones/PCBs), jewelry (nickel, cadmium), dental silver amalgams (mercury), Ayurvedic drugs (lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury) and substandard orthopedic as well as dental implants (nickel) is an inescapable fact of life.

In most instances, implementation of regulations on the ground can help in diminishing this problem. But inadequate monitoring staff, poor training, lack of political will and corruption on the regulatory side helps compound this problem.

  • Every new cosmetic product

Every new cosmetic product that is launched in india needs to be passed by the regulatory body. All can't be run on good faith. These heavy metals are seriously harmful for everyone and our government needs to take strict action against these cosmetic companies.
