The EXNORA-INTACH Clean India
Campaign 11 ended in November, having covered 86 cities all over India. The
communications yatra had people
from EXNORA, a Madras-based NGO
which has revolutionised garbage
management in the city, and the
Indian National Trust for Art and
Cultural Heritage (INTACH), taking
their practical experiences in waste
management to mayors, commissioners, health officers and interested
NGOs along the way. The yatris also
collected information on the present
systems of waste management in
each city to help them formulate a
practical agenda.
