

On May 28, 2026, India’s peak power demand stood at 261.4 GW during solar hours at 3:29pm. The peak demand during non-solar hours was 242.9 GW.
The total generation was 6067 MU.
The source-wise generation share is as follows:
Coal – 68 per cent
Gas – 1 per cent
Wind & Solar – 20 per cent
Hydropower – 8 per cent
Others including Nuclear – 3 per cent
*‘Others’ includes biomass and nuclear.
