The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued light to moderate rainfall over most places in Northeast India over the next seven days, with isolated heavy to very heavy falls likely on June 2 and 3 and isolated heavy rainfall on June 4 and 5. Localised flash floods are a possibility in Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Manipur.

In northwest India, rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kilometres per hour) is expected over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and parts of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan till June 4.

Thundersquall winds (50-60 kmph, gusting to 70 kmph) are likely in these areas on June 2 and 3. Isolated heavy rainfall is also forecast over Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana on June 3 and over East Rajasthan on June 2 and 3. Isolated dust storms are very likely over West Rajasthan from June 2 to 5.

In East and Central India, light to moderate rainfall is likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh between June 2 and 4, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds. Thundersqualls (50-60 kmph, gusting to 70 kmph) may occur over West Madhya Pradesh on June 3 and 4. Heavy rainfall is likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on June 2.

In South India, light to moderate rainfall is expected over Kerala, Mahe and Coastal Karnataka from June 2 to 4, with isolated heavy showers over Kerala & Mahe. Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Interior Karnataka may experience gusty winds (30-40 kmph) and thunderstorms during the same period.

Hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail over Odisha during June 2-6 and over Gangetic West Bengal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during June 2-4.

Fisherfolk are advised not to venture into the central and south Arabian Sea, Lakshadweep area, Gulf of Mannar and parts of the Bay of Bengal due to rough sea conditions from June 2 to 4.
