A non-profit called the Tycia Foundation has organised these three-wheelers to help needy patients reach hospitals
The humble auto rickshaw has always been a lifeline for the middle class of our country. In the middle of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic when the country’s capital is fighting for resources, these three-wheeled vehicles are playing a stellar role in saving lives of people in Delhi by turning themselves into ambulances.
This is all thanks to a non-profit called the Tycia Foundation, which organised these three-wheelers to help needy patients reach hospitals. They started a popular service called Auto Ambulances and patients can avail these Auto Ambulances free-of-cost by calling their toll free number (9818430043 and 011-41236614).
These ambulance drivers have been given proper training and take safety precautions like wearing PPE kits while interacting with patients. Although the service was started as COVID-19 relief, a lot of needy people with other medical emergencies are now making use of the auto ambulances.
When the country’s capital is wrestling with the pandemic, these small initiatives add a lot in the fight against COVID-19.
