The migratory birds are having a hard time in frequenting the Indian wetlands in winters and the great white pelican is no exception.

Pollution, encroachment of wetlands and rising temperatures are dissuading these long-distance frequent fliers from visiting India when the temperature in colder European regions become unbearable.

Once disturbed, the whole colonies of pelicans leave a habitat and never return.

The leaking antibiotics into the food webs is also disrupting the natural habitats of these elegant white birds.
