On April 6, 2025, Punjab farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewall ended his 4-month-long hunger strike, which began on November 26, 2024, to demand a legal guarantee for the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops.
His protest, joined by 121 farmers, also called for the withdrawal of cases from the 2020-2021 farm law protests, justice for Lakhimpuri Kheri victims, and pensions for farmers over 60.
The strike ended after the Union government agreed to talks. Dallewall vows to continue the fight for MSP, promising a nationwide movement.
