Delhi floods again with the first major spell of monsoonal rain

While they brought relief, the rains revived the age-old concern about Delhi’s infrastructure shortcomings when it comes to storm water drainage

Delhi and the National Capital Region flooded again after the first major spell of monsoon rains in the region on July 8 and 9. 

As these photos show, the national capital flooded...again.

As these photos show, commuters braved flooded stretches, with heavy showers offering respite from the heat while disrupting transport and daily routines.

It is a familiar sight every monsoon and a question that has not yet been answered: Why is the capital of the country not able to tackle storm water drainage?

The rains may have brought relief but again revived the age-old question: Why does the national capital flood even as the slightest spell of rainfall?
