On May 26, 2026, India’s peak power demand stood at 265.8 GW during solar hours at 3:46 pm.

The source mix is as follows:

1. Peak demand during solar hours: 265.8 GW

2. Peak demand during non-solar hours: 249.9 GW

3. Total Generation: 6186 MU [Identical to May 25]

4. Source-wise generation share:

Coal – 69 per cent

Gas – 2 per cent 

Wind & Solar – 19 per cent

Hydro – 7 per cent

Others – 3 per cent

*‘Others’ includes biomass and nuclear.
