POSCO gets final approval

Environment ministry endorses state government's claim that there are no forest rights to be settled in the project area

The environment ministry on Monday gave final approval to the Odisha government to divert 1,253 hectares (ha) of forestland for the POSCO steel project in Jagatsinghpur district.



The ministry, in its final order, endorsed the state government’s claim that there are no rights to be settled under the Forest Rights Act (FRA) 2006 in the project area.
