Folk artists flock to Faridabad as 38th Surajkund International Crafts Mela kicks off

Visitors can feast on a diverse range of ethnic cuisines from around the world at the multi-cuisine food court

A vibrant blend of colours, rhythmic drumbeats, and an atmosphere of joy and celebration come together at Surajkund in Haryana's Faridabad as the 38th Surajkund International Crafts Mela is launched. The fair commenced on February 7 and will last till February 23.  

Renowned as a highlight on the international tourist calendar, the Mela attracts over a million visitors each year, including thousands of international tourists.

A key feature of the Mela is the daily performances by renowned national and international folk artists and cultural troupes at the Chaupals, open-air theatres located within the Mela grounds.

The event is organised by the Surajkund Mela Authority and Haryana Tourism, in collaboration with the Union Ministries of Tourism, Textiles, Culture, and External Affairs.  

Visitors can also enjoy a diverse range of ethnic cuisines from around the world at the multi-cuisine Food Court, which is a major draw for attendees. The Mela also offers designated areas for amusement, adventure sports, and joy rides.
