Volcanoes have erupted on three separate continents in the past few days. In Europe, the continent’s most active volcano Mount Etna erupted on May 21, 2023. It caused flights in the region to come to an abrupt halt. This photo taken on May 23 by the Mexican National Center for Disaster (CENAPRED), shows smoke billowing from the volcano.In Africa, the Nyamulagira volcano is experiencing an ongoing eruption. Lava spewed forth on May 20 and 21 was visible from the city of Goma, on the Democratic Republic of Congo's border with Rwanda.
