This is a ‘wetland’ in the far northwest corner of Delhi. But it is one with a difference.

Let water drain poorly and viola! stagnant, algae-covered water and accumulated garbage give the appearance of a wetland.

It is actually stagnant, algae-covered water and accumulated garbage that have surrounded residential buildings in Roop Vihar and Sharma Colony in Sector 40, Rohini.

In the process though, residents to persistent sanitation and health risks.

Poor drainage has thus turned the area into a wetland-like zone, exposing residents to persistent sanitation and health risks.
