Dog feeding, Delhi style

Strays are fed on the roadside in open violation of the law, which has designated feeding sites

In September last year, Delhi identified 292 locations for feeding stray dogs in 80 wards.

The aim was to reduce conflict and rabies risk.

The municipal corporation of Delhi also started installing boards to mark the feeding points as per the Supreme Court’s directions

But residents of Delhi continue to feed dogs away from designated feeding spots, on the roadside.

But as can be seen in these photos, dogs are clustering around a roadside feeder in Delhi, in open violation of the law.
