A Public Effort

Where the government has failed miserably in providing quality service to the people, some ngos have set an example on how urban waste can be managed. Vatavaran in Delhi and Exnora in Chennai are two organisations, which have set at rest doubts on the difficulty of managing wastes. There are also a few individuals, who have made a difference in the field of garbage management. Uday Bhawalkar, Gita Vir. Kisan Mehta and R T Doshi, to name a few, are successfully carrying out organic farming and vermiculture in Pune and Mumbai.
