AIDED PROGRESS

Sustainable development is the bottomline of a new package by the UN Developmentprogramme's (UNDP) Country Cooperation Frameworkfor Bhutan. The US $33 million-package will be used inprogrammes for sustainable livelihoods, governance andenvironment between the years 1997 and 2001. Underthese programmes, UNDP will focus on management anddecentralisation of development projects to assist thegovernment in planning, managing and implementingdevelopment activities.
