Women who gave birth to twinsmay be protected against breast cancer, says a study from the ImperialCancer Research Fund, London.This population-based study reportsthat their risk was reduced byalmost a third as compared withmothers who had only one baby.Data was taken by examining 47,000Swedish women under 50 who gavebirth to twins and who were notregistered as having breast cancer,and was compared with information about 4,800 women of similarage who had developed breast cancer after childbirth.
