Flowing study

Published on

Meandering water channels alwaysfollow a gently winding path. Whythis happens has been explainedwith the help of a model developedby physicists Taniemola Liverpooland Sam Edwards, University ofCambridge, US. The two main components of the model include 'pinching of a part of the flow toform an ox-bow lake which allowsthe river to resume its normal pathin the channel and the terrainthrough which the river flows. Oilreserves can also be located bystudying the meanders (NewScientis4 Vol 148, No 2007).
