Mega solar power project becomes operational in Thailand

SPCG Public Co Ltd and Kyocera Corp are the companies involved with the project which can generate enough electricity to provide for 287,500 Thai households. The plant will generate 345,000,000kWh annually.

The project was started by SGPC while Kyocera was selected to supply solar modules. The plant has around 1.1 million solar panels and will supply electricity to the Provincial Electricity Authority of Thailand. 

In a similar initiative, Australia is working towards the completion of its largest solar power plant. According to a news report published in The Age, installation of solar panels has started at the plant located in New South Wales On July 30. The plant is spread in 250 hectare and will have 1.35 million solar photovoltaic (PV) modules. It is being constructed at a ccost of $290 million and will produce 102 MW, enough to supply power to 33,000 homes.
