The UK-based book publisher Random House has publicly agreed to make its book production "ancient forest friendly". They have decided to source the paper from only plantation forests.
The Karnataka High Court has said that bullocks should be treated as living beings on a par with humans and not as objects. The court ruling, which came in a motor vehicle accident case, stated that though bullocks are treated as property of humans, they should be recognised as having their own existence.
