MOUNTING PROBLEM

The deadlock in the construction of Syedabad water treatment plant in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, has led to large-scale river and environmental pollution in the suburbs of the city. The deadlock is a result of the non-availability of funds that were to be given by the World Bank, said Nazrul Islam, chairperson of the Dhaka water and sewerage authority.
