The Landless SettlersProblem Commission in Kathmanduhas attracted the ire of the locals ofNijgadh, Bara, who claim that they havebeen wrongly treated as landless settlersalthough they were settled in the area bythe government between 1968 and 1970.During this period, the government had distributed land- sale or transaction of which was prohibited - to 1,900families in the area. Problems have now cropped upbecause the Commission is once again distributing landownership certificates in the area.
