Water Board Delhi

The Delhi government is battling consumer ire over the usual summer shortages in power and water. To be more available to citizens, it's now trying the short messaging service (sms) route.

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit announced that consumers can sms 7575, to reach the Delhi Jal Board (djb), for water tankers or supply in their area.

Delhi already has a cyber centre and electronic (e) services like the e -Praman Patra (issue of certificates) and e -Dastavej (online registration facility). The djb is also planning call centres for water grievances. Now all that's left is for someone to actually respond to citizen complaints. And then, go look for more water.
