>> Russian scientists from Saint Petersburg have developed an electronic lure to catch fish. The device looks like a small cylinder and generates four types of signals, both flashing lights and electronic vibrations, to attract fish within minutes.

>> China has announced plans for its longest natural gas pipeline which aims to transport gas from the heart of central Asia to densely-populated southern China. The project will commence in 2008. It is part of a network of planned gas pipelines and terminals that receive liquefied-natural-gas. China is trying to diversify its energy supplies and increase clean energy use to fuel rapid economic growth.

>> California's Department of Fish and Game has proposed the California Fish and Game Commission for phasing out of lead ammunition for hunting, statewide. The move is to protect bald eagles, golden eagles, turkey vultures and other avian species that scavenge.
