Paper work and government offices go hand-in-hand. But in Kerala's Palakkad district, matters are somewhat different. Its five taluks and 156 village offices are computerized--the first district in the country with this distinction. E-files and folders have replaced paper. District Collector KS Srinivas, who took the initiative for the project, said the computerization was facilitated by a state government grant of Rs 6.75 crore.
