Live rock concerts are the hardeston ears, reports Christian Meyer-Bisch, an ear specialist in the city ofNancy in France. Investigating hazards to hearing, from exposure tohigh noise at a live concert, Mayer-Bisch reports that people can develop symptoms of temporary hearingloss. These include ringing in theears, called tinnitus, and deadeQedhearing like having cotton wool inyour ears. After an extensive studyconducted on 1,364 people betweenthe ages of 14 and 40, divided intogroups depending on their listeninghabits, the regular concertgoersshowed the highest incidence ofdamage to hearing.
