No Garbage

A writ petition hasbeen filed in the Andhr* PradeshHigh Court challenging the establishment of the garbage storage,treatment and disposal plant atDindigal in Hyderabad. The plantis spread over 200 acres. The petition was filed by PurshottamReddy of the 0smania Univcrsity@Hyderabad. He argued that thestate Pollution Control Board hadnot taken adequate precaution toavert thethreat to the environmentof the city. He said that the projectwas conceived, designed andexecuted in a haphazard manner.The bench comprising JusticeB S Reddy and justice V V Rao hasadmitted the petition.
