-- Dutch born nature photographer Frans Lanting has, with his recent photography, brought to life the jungles of South America. Currently on exhibition at the Yale Peabody Museum, Connecticut, usa and funded partly by the National Geographic Society it is entitled "Jungles: Photography by Frans Lanting".

With exhibits ranging from an all encompassing Borneo lowland rainforest to scarlet macaws from Peru in flight, the 45 photos in the exhibition have been arranged into four groups: "Water and Light," "Color and Camouflage," "Anarchy and Order," and "Form and Evolution." The exhibition of this BBC photographer of the year 1991, is a nature lover's delight with intense close-ups and abstract representations of various forms of life. Laced with short quotations by Charles Darwin and prominent biologist E O Wilson, the exhibit not only brings out the photographer's best but also credits Lanting with focusing attention on environmental protection and its appreciation.
