A group of researchers in Bangladesh have developed several new and all-season varieties of mangoes. Researchers at the government's Agricultural Extension Department developed high-yielding varieties of mango plants that bear fruit all the year round like Mahananda and Mallika . One of the new species, the Mbra Mango Special , has been developed after cross-breeding different species of foreign and local mango plants.
