>> Leonardo DiCaprio's documentary The 11th Hour opened in theatres on August 17. The film starts with a bleak outlook on issues like global warming. Much of the roughly 90-minute movie is, however, not bleak. It suggests ways to heal the environment with human, government and corporate action.
>> Ushuaia in Argentina hosted the the First International Mountain Film Festival between August 19 and 24. More than 20 documentaries, feature films and experimental videos about mountains in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Spain, France and Italy were screened. There were also side conferences on mountain ecology, sporting events and photo exhibitions.
