Climate change has got Hollywood's attention ever since Al Gore sounded a warning in The Inconvenient Truth . This year
Leonardo Di Caprio was the latest to jump on to the bandwagon.
The Age of the Stupid promises to be somewhat different from these attempts.
"It was financed by hundreds of different groups and individuals and in many ways, we all star in it we're the
self-destructive anti-heroes who are emitting all the greenhouse gases," the film's site notes.
It trailers show that in 2055, on a flooded, damaged, inhospitable Earth in the midst of a rough ocean a lone man lives in a
massive tower that looks like it was bred from an oil rig. The man, played by Pete Postlethwaite, muses about why humans did
not do something to stop climate change when there was still time.
The movie brings together stories from the growing lost cost airline industry in India, people living near Shell's oil
fields in Nigeria, a mountain guide in France, Katrina survivors in US, refugees in Iraq and a windfarm developer in England.
This 90-minute film is due to be released in the UK in the last week of March and the US in April 2009. Viewers in most
countries however will have to order in DVDs of the movie.
The website gives an assortment of information on the film including its carbon footprint--the equivalent of four Americans or
eight British people for a year or 91 people living sustainably for a year.
