Coronavirus update: Ordinance to punish violence against healthcare workers

The Union Cabinet April 22, 2020 approved an Ordinance to punish violence against healthcare workers with a imprisonment fo up to five years, Union minister Prakash Javadekar said. It also provides for compensation for injuries to them as well as for damage to establishments. An allegation would have to be investigated within 30 days
