A NUCLEAR reactor in your vicinity could
be the best way to contract breast cancer, as the latest Greenpeace report
reveals. The report titled, "Nuclear
Power, Human Health and the
Environment: The Breast Cancer
Warning in the Great Lakes Basin",
endorsed by 13 us cancer experts,
indicates that toxic chemicals
including radioactive emissions
from nuclear reactors have led to a
sharp increase in the occurrence of
breast cancer in the Great Lakes
Basin. Current death rates of women
in the 81 us counties bordering the
Great Lakes is 27.8 deaths compared to the 24.6 for the rest of the country.
Greenpeace recommends that
nuclear reactors be phased out, considering that alternate benign energy
sources exist. Nuclear power production, with all its attendant benefits, can
play havoc on human lives.
