Two US states and three environmental groups have filed a lawsuit against the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) alleging that the agency has failed to offer an adequate plan to cut toxic pollution. According to the lawsuit filed in the US federal court, a new EPA rule has left hundreds of millions of US citizens exposed to known human carcinogens. The petitioners claim that as per the provisions of the Clean Air Act it was mandatory for EPA to reduce the threat of toxic air pollutants from cars, trucks, buses, boats, snowmobiles, lawn equipment and motor vehicle fuels. But the agency has failed to do so.
