Anti-dumping duties will hit shrimp exports to the us from India and three other countries -- Ecuador, Brazil and Thailand. The duties, which range from 5.5 per cent to 67 per cent, were imposed following a complaint filed by the Southern Shrimp Alliance, a trade group representing shrimp producing states in the us in December 2003. Indian exporters, who will face an average duty of 14.2 per cent are not too worried as their close competitor, Vietnam, is facing higher duties, as much as 16 per cent, approximately.
