The Andhra Pradesh high court has recently directed the state government to ensure protected water supply in the fluorosis-affected areas of Nalgonda district. The bench issued several directions to the state government in response to a public interest litigation filed for seeking the court's intervention to protect the 'right to life' of people in fluorosis-affected areas of the district. The bench directed the Nalgonda district administrative machinery to identify severely affected villages and supply water in tankers to them till the state government formulates appropriate schemes in this regard.
