The UK McDonalds Vegetarian society

It seems quite an unlikely tie-up. But the truth is that a person walking into a McDonald's outlet in the uk is likely to find the "Vegetarian Society Approved" badge on menus alongside Big Macs, French Fries and Chicken McNuggets. For uk's vegetarian society will endorse some of McDonald's vegetarian products such as Quorn Premiere Burger, garden salad, yoghurt, fruit toast and bagels. McDonald's will pay the society an undisclosed fee for the rights. The tie-up comes after some dreadful times for the burger giant: the negative publicity generated by the film, Super Size Me, a consumer survey showing McDonalds the fourth most hated brand in the uk and reports of dipping profits.
