Some 1,098 humans and 59,598 livestock have died and 0.34 million hectres (ha) of crops have been affected due to natural calamities in the country as of July 26, 2022, Nityanand Rai, Union minister of state for home affairs, told the Lok Sabha.
The Centre had released an amount of Rs 34,847 crore to the states and Union territories except West Bengal for the implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme as of July 20, 2022.

Eleven plants, with a total cumulative installed capacity of 139.14 megawatt of power generation from municipal solid waste have been set up in India as of June 30, 2022. These plants have the capacity of processing approximately 11,000 tonnes of such waste per day to generate electricity, Khuba told the Rajya Sabha.
Some 1.88 per cent net wastage of COVID-19 vaccines against the total vaccines used was reported from Andhra Pradesh from May 1, 2021 through July 21, 2022, Bharati Pravin Pawar, minister of state in The Union Ministry of Health And Family Welfare told the Rajya Sabha.
India has 607 patients with Lysosomal Storage Disorder according to data available with the National Registry for Rare and Other Inherited Disorders under the Indian Council of Medical Research.
Of these, 138 patients have been diagnosed with Gaucher’s disease. Gaucher’s disease is one of the common diseases among Lysosomal Storage Disorder patients, Bharati Pravin Pawar told the Rajya Sabha.
