The Delhi high court has reprimanded the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and the Archeological Survey of India as they have failed to identify polluting waterbodies in Delhi. The court called for immediate action and asked the heads of the government agencies concerned to file a status report by October 6, 2001. According to the court, the revival of waterbodies is necessary for recharging the city's underground aquifers.
