>> Iran’s government sentenced film maker Jafar Panahi to six years of imprisonment and prohibited him from making films, writing or giving interviews to the media.

Panahi, known for his movies on humanitarian struggle in Iran, is convicted of conspiring against national security and spreading propaganda against the system.

>> Venezuela passed a law to tighten rules governing online content. The rules will ban messages that could disrespect authorities, incite or promote hatred or create anxiety in citizenry or alter public order.
