Daily gas stove use may be dangerous for adults suffering from asthma. Mark Eisner and his team at the University of California, San Francisco, USA studied its effect on 539 asthmatics. Fifteen per cent of them were found to be using the gas stove on a daily basis and were more likely to report one or more asthma-related problem -- emergency department visits, urgent physician visits and hospitalisations -- compared to non-users or those who used gas stoves less frequently. The researchers concluded that daily gas stove use may aggravate the asthma condition among suffering adults.
