The Bangladesh army wants permission to kill two elephants! These elephants are reported to have killed a soldier and injured two more. The Army wants to shoot them down. Forest officials are flummoxed and do not know how to respond to this strange request.
According to Ali Haider, a wildlife conservationist, "Elephants do not venture into human habitations unless they are disturbed or scared to death. They may stray into villages while fleeing poachers. Then they turn on people to take revenge."
