Tobacco fight

a multi-billion dollar civil lawsuit is going to be filed against the us tobacco companies by the European Commission. The commission alleged that it has lost tax revenue worth billions of dollars because of the us cigarettes being illegally sold in Europe. The commission says it has got evidence to support its civil lawsuit. It added that there was no scope of the companies not being aware about the smuggling, as large quantities of cigarettes were being smuggled since decades. The commission did not name the us tobacco companies that it is planning to sue. It also declined to quote the amount it will be demanding as compensation. The us cigarettes are smuggled into Europe through Balkan countries.
