The space shuttle Endeavour has
used a new earth-imaging radar to
photograph the area around the
ancient Cambodian city of Angkor.
Altho Ugh the main temple complex
at Angkor has been restored, much
of the'city is hidden in impenetrable
Jungle'(Science, Vol 267, No 5200).
The radar, developed jointly by
the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in
Pasa6na, California and the German
and Italian space agencies, is highly
sensitive to variations in texture.
